Save Your Nails with Keryflex Nail Restoration.
When we look great, we feel great – and our toenails are no exception. This brilliant system works to restore damaged, injured, brittle, discoloured or unhealthy-appearing nails into nails that you’re proud to show off. Better yet, it’s done all in one appointment with your Podiatrist in Toowoomba.
The nails look and feel completely natural. Unlike rigid acrylic nails, nails restored by KeryFlex are able to bend with the natural movement of the toes and feet. Your nails will not cause any further damage to the underlying nails and skin, nor will they allow any moisture to penetrate between the natural nail.
KeryFlex is a perfect compliment to our Lunula Laser treatment for fungal nail infections, allowing the nails to look clear and healthy throughout the treatment process as they continue to grow. Keryflex is:
- Completely painless
- Completed within one appointment so you leave with healthy-looking nails
- Unaffected by acetone, nail polish or detergents
- Available in three colours: clear, natural and opaque
We’re proud to offer KeryFlex as a fantastic solution to the many patients we see that are unhappy or embarrassed with the appearance of their nails. You can see some of the fantastic results from KeryFlex below or on our Facebook page here.

What is KeryFlex Nail Restoration?
KeryFlex Nail Restoration is a new cosmetic procedure performed by a qualified podiatrist. It involves applying a flexible, lightweight, and durable polymer resin to damaged toenails. This unique system is intended to restore the appearance of a natural nail, instantly enhancing its beauty. Unlike traditional acrylic nails, KeryFlex is nonporous. It allows the natural nail to grow and breathe beneath, which prevents further physical and moisture damage.
The KeryFle x system consists of three components:
- KeryFlex Bonding Agent: Provides strong adhesion to the nail surface.
- KeryFlex Resin: A proprietary, medical-grade gel that is carefully applied and shaped to match the nail.
- KeryFlex Sealant: Provides a long-lasting, non-porous finish, protecting the nail and giving it a natural glow.
Each layer is cured with a specially formulated UV light, resulting in a strong yet flexible artificial nail that moves naturally with the toe. The outcome is a beautiful, natural-looking nail that will withstand everyday activities.
Benefits of KeryFlex Treatment
KeryFlex offers many benefits for those looking for a cosmetic fix for damaged toenails:
- Immediate Aesthetic Improvement:
The most significant advantage is the quick transformation of discoloured, brittle, or misshapen nails into attractive nails, usually in one appointment. - Realistic:
KeryFlex nails mimic the texture and shine of a healthy toenail, making them nearly impossible to tell apart. They are also flexible and lightweight, making them comfortable on the foot. - Durable and Long-Lasting:
KeryFlex nails are durable and resistant to acetone, nail polish removers, and detergents. They can handle daily activities, such as swimming and showering, and typically last from a few weeks to months, depending on the natural growth of your nail. - Non-Porous:
Since KeryFlex is nonporous, it does not absorb moisture. This is particularly important for fungal nails, as it prevents moisture buildup and discourages fungal growth beneath the artificial nail. - Compatible with Antifungal Treatment:
KeryFlex can be applied over nails that are undergoing antifungal treatment, allowing the medication to work effectively while restoring the nail’s appearance. - Protective Barrier:
The KeryFlex application is a protective layer over compromised nails, preventing them from further damage or harm. - Improved Confidence:
Restoring the appearance of healthy toenails can significantly enhance self-esteem, allowing individuals to wear open-toed shoes or go barefoot (with caution). - No Discomfort:
The application process is generally easy and comfortable.
KeryFlex Procedure: Step-by-step
The KeryFlex nail restoration procedure is effortless, efficient, and often completed in a single appointment. Here’s what to expect:
- The podiatrist first cleans the natural nail, removes any rough edges or thickened areas, and ensures the nail surface is free of oils or debris for optimal bonding. They will also carefully remove any existing fungal debris.
- A KeryFlex bonding agent is applied to the prepared nail to act as a primer for strong resin adhesion.
- The KeryFlex resin is then applied to the nail. The podiatrist meticulously sculpts and moulds the resin to create the desired natural-looking nail shape and thickness. Multiple layers may be utilised to achieve the desired effect.
- Each layer of resin is cured under a specially formulated UV light for a short period. This hardens the resin, making it durable and tough.
- A KeryFlex sealant is applied to the new nail’s surface for a smooth, natural finish and protection against discolouration and damage. The nail is then shaped with a slightly curved edge.
The entire process usually takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes per toe, depending on the severity of the damage.

Maintenance & Longevity of KeryFlex Nails
KeryFlex nails are designed for durability and low maintenance. Here’s what you need to know about caring for them:
- Wear and Tear: KeryFlex nails can endure most everyday activities, including showering, swimming, and wearing closed-toe shoes.
- Nail Polish: You can apply regular nail polish to KeryFlex nails. When removing polish, use a non-acetone remover, as acetone can damage the KeryFlex material.
- Trimming: You can trim and file your KeryFlex nails as usual.
- Reapplication: The KeryFlex nail will grow with your natural nail. Longevity varies depending on your growth rate and care, typically lasting from 6 to 8 weeks before needing a reapplication or fill. Your podiatrist will suggest the best schedule for maintenance appointments.
- If you have a fungal infection, it is essential to continue your prescribed antifungal medication even with KeryFlex applied.
What do our clients say?
“I go there and they have pretty much excelled in the way they deal with me either looking after my feet or going to Lyle for a massage. When I walk through the door I feel welcomed and the staff there are excellent. Troy should be proud of the wonderful staff he has”.
