The Power of Lunula Laser Treatment for Fungal Nail Infections.

The Erchonia® Lunula Laser is a revolutionary low-level laser device bringing new hope to people suffering from painful, discolored and disfigured toenails associated with nail fungus. An embarrassing and unsightly problem facing millions of people, it has typically been difficult to restore clear nails safely and effectively. Oral fungus medications are linked to serious long-term health risks, including liver damage, while other laser options are often painful.

We love laser therapy for the freedom it offers our patients to wear their sandals with pride and finally win their battle with fungal nail infections. We’ve had great success with the laser, and even wrote our own review on its 6 month anniversary in our clinic, and have shared our own in-clinic results here: Laser for Fungal Nails – What’s It All About? Our Podiatrist Jays Shares His Experience!

The Lunula Advantage:

  • 100% safe
  • Uses low-level laser light to stimulate the growth of strong, clear and healthy nails
  • Takes only minutes to complete
  • No downtime required
  • No pain or risk
  • No more embarrassment about unsightly feet
  • Nails can be painted after your treatment using anti-fungal nail polish

The laser treatment process itself is simple and efficient, and requires little more than you sitting down and inserting your foot into the Lunula Laser machine. Unlike other lasers that use heat to eradicate the fungus, this cold laser therapy means no heat pain and discomfort.

No More Fungal Nails.

The footwear steriliser is also a complimentary service we provide that ensures there are no fungal particles within the shoes. This service is included in every laser session, allowing multiple pairs of shoes to be sterilised.

Lunula Laser Nail Treatment

Good Candidates for Lunula Laser

Many people with fungal nail infections can benefit from lunula laser treatment. Those with mild to severe fungal nail infections are good candidates, as well as:

  • Individuals who have previously attempted topical antifungal ointments or creams without results.
  • People who, due to adverse effects or drug interactions, are unable or unable to use oral antifungal therapy.
  • People in poor health for whom other treatments might be dangerous, such as people with diabetes or poor circulation.
  • Anyone looking for an efficient, non-surgical, and painless way to cure fungal nails.
  • Those who have brittle, thickened, or discoloured nails because of a fungal infection.

Our podiatrists in Toowoomba will conduct a thorough evaluation to ascertain whether Lunula Laser is the best course of action for your ailment.

What Is Lunula Laser Treatment?

Onychomycosis can be immediately treated with the Lunula Laser, a cool laser (low-level laser) technology. In contrast to conventional hot, heat-based lasers, the Lunula Laser uses two separate diode lasers at wavelengths (635 nm and 405 nm), which work in tandem to eliminate the infection without producing heat or discomfort.

The operation of the two wavelengths is as follows:

Red light, or 635 nm: This wavelength promotes blood flow and the body’s defence mechanism. In addition to providing much-needed oxygen and nutrients for healthy nail growth, it also boosts the body’s natural defences against infection by increasing blood flow to the nail bed. Additionally, it aids in lowering nail unit inflammation.

Violet Light (at 405 nm): With antibacterial properties, this wavelength disrupts the fungal cells. It causes the fungus to undergo a photochemical reaction that destroys it without endangering the nearby healthy tissue.

Together, these wavelengths not only eradicate fungal infections but also foster a healthier nail environment, which eventually leads to clean, healthy nail growth. The laser’s rotating beam ensures that the entire nail, as well as the surrounding tissue and nail bed, are appropriately treated.

Benefits of Using Lunula Laser

There are several advantages to using Lunula Laser treatment for people who want to get rid of fungal nail infections:

  • One of its greatest advantages is that it causes no pain. As a cold laser, the Lunula Laser produces no heat and causes no pain or discomfort during the procedure.
  • There is no need for needles, cuts, or toxic topical medications.
  • Lunula Laser treatment has no negative side effects or downtime. It’s safe for all persons and most medical conditions.
  • Fungal nail infections can be eradicated with high success rates, according to clinical trials.
  • Following treatment, regular activities can be resumed right away.
  • In addition to eliminating the fungus, the laser promotes natural nail development and circulation, resulting in healthier, clearer nails.
  • Its cold laser nature makes it an excellent option for those who don’t respond well to other therapies.
  • Because of its pleasant nature, no local anaesthetic is required.
