Custom Orthotics in Toowoomba & Warwick to Build Your Health from the Ground Up.

Your feet establish the base upon which your entire body rests. Every day, your feet endure your weight while absorbing shock and serving as the mechanism to move your body. An out-of-alignment foundation leads to extended foot pain, which travels to ankles, then knees and hips, and finally affects the lower back. Your daily work becomes unbearable because of constant pain, and sports activities become impossible while your body seems to fail you.

The foundation of a strong body leads to an active life without pain at Optimise Health. Our team specialises in creating medical devices that address specific biomechanical needs through true custom orthotics. We offer superior service and faster treatment than other providers; you don’t have to wait for a resolution. Our on-site lab provides state-of-the-art technology to evaluate your needs and manufacture orthotics in a single appointment, so you can start your recovery journey immediately.

Orthotics by Experienced Podiatrists.

At Optimise Health, we understand that every step you take impacts your overall well-being. That’s why our custom-designed orthotics are more than just inserts for your shoes— they’re integral to supporting your body’s mechanics.

Whether you’re dealing with foot pain, healing from an injury, or simply want to improve your overall foot health, our state-of-the-art orthotics, crafted using the latest Orthema technology, are designed to address your unique needs.

How Do I Know if I Need Orthotics

What Are Custom Orthotics?

Custom orthotics exceed basic arch support or cushioned insoles. An expert podiatrist must prescribe these highly specialised medical devices that get moulded to match the precise shape of each foot. These devices function like personalised body alignment spectacles. Custom orthotics surpass standard inserts by fixing fundamental biomechanical problems that generate your pain while addressing your body’s dysfunction.

Orthotics direct your foot into its most suitable position so that body forces change with every walking step. The proper alignment reduces excessive stress on strained muscles, tendons, and ligaments, thus enabling tissue recovery and injury prevention.

Podiatry

What Are Orthotics For?

Podiatrists often use orthotics to address a wide range of issues that affect the feet and lower limbs. From flat feet and plantar fasciitis to sports injuries and postural issues, custom orthotics aim to correct foot positioning, alleviate pressure points, and support your foot’s natural shape.

People living with chronic pain, such as heel or arch pain, may find orthotics particularly useful. This is because they may assist in managing common conditions like flat feet, and other foot concerns by improving the fit and comfort of your shoes.

Orthotics also play a crucial role for athletes of all types. Whether you’re a runner, footballer, or an athlete of the keeping-up-with-the-kids variety, orthotics aim to prevent injuries by supporting your feet during daily life and physical activities.

How Orthotics May Help?

Custom orthotics are designed to address discomfort and promote better foot health. By redistributing weight and providing stability, orthotics may reduce pain— not only in your feet, but also in your legs, knees, and back.

For athletes, orthotics may even be able to enhance performance by improving foot alignment and absorbing ground impact forces, which helps prevent injuries and accelerates recovery from existing ones.

Orthotics may also assist children whose foot positions are still developing. By developing anatomically aligned foot positions, orthotics may help them grow with less risk of long-term issues.

While many people come to us with foot pain and discomfort such as injured muscles, we aim to address this and much more. With Orthema orthotics, we aren’t just about relieving pain— we’re about enhancing your overall movement and performance.

Custom Orthotics for Flat Feet

People often need help because they have ‘flat feet’, which is another term for overpronation. Your foot arch experiences a collapse when you stand on it because of overpronation. The persistent inward movement of the foot generates significant stress that damages all the structures within your feet and lower legs. Your ankle joint, knee, and hip must rotate inward because of this condition, which creates sequential misalignment and stress throughout the body.

The use of custom orthotics for flat feet produces remarkable results. Our specialised orthotics serve as a different solution from common arch supports since they actively address the root cause of arch collapse. They work by:

  • Controlling pronation: Supporting the arch structure and positioning the heel bone to control both speed and extent of foot inward rolling.
  • Supporting the arch dynamically: The support extends from the beginning of the stride to its completion.
  • Reducing tissue strain: Proper alignment reduces the excessive force on the plantar fascia tissue along with posterior tibial tendon strain, which frequently causes pain in flat feet.

Custom orthotics serve as a corrective treatment method to deliver enduring relief from damage that develops into chronic tendon issues and arthritis.

What to Expect During Your Orthotics Assessment.

Your journey begins with a conversation. The team at Optimise Health will listen to your story, frustrations, and personal goals. Your appointment will then involve:

  1. The podiatrist will perform an extensive biomechanical evaluation of your joints, together with your muscle strength and body alignment extending from your feet to your hips.
  2. We observe your walking and running motion by using our Zebris pressure-plate treadmill to view your real-time foot mechanics during the assessment.
  3. We take a highly accurate, non-weight-bearing 3D scan of your feet to capture their optimal functional position.
  4. Based on all this data, your podiatrist will design your orthotic.

Our 3 Steps in Making Custom Orthotics.

Suffering from foot corns and calluses? That might be the pressure on your feet. Lucky for you, we’ve got just the thing to help relieve the pressure.

Compared to regular shoe inserts that provide cushioning and support for your feet, orthotics were made to correct biomechanical problems with your feet, making it easier for you to walk, stand, and run correctly. So, how are they made?

Here at Optimise Health, we create customised orthotics in 3 steps.

  1. The first step is a gait analysis. Our Zebris Gait Analysis System is packed with 7,000 sensors that capture data on your gait, running technique, injury risk, and muscle strength.

The system allows us to identify which parts of your feet are taking on too much pressure when you’re standing, walking, or running.

  2. After the gait analysis, we use our innovative Orthema system to do a 3D scan of your feet. With this system, we’ll be able to make orthotics to alleviate the pressure on your feet and help you feel more comfortable.

As soon as we’re done with the scan, we can start creating the orthotic inside the clinic. If you’re from out of town, you won’t even have to wait a few days before they’re ready. From the gait analysis down to the actual creation of the orthotics, the process takes approximately 80 minutes.

  3. Then in 2 weeks, you can come back to the clinic to let us know whether the orthotic is too strong, not strong enough, or just right — which is what we aim for.

  • Unmatched speed: Our in-house production of custom orthotics can be completed within ninety minutes. How We Provide Excellent Care with the Latest Technology?

We use Orthema, a cutting-edge, revolutionary German and Swiss technology that allows us to create your custom orthotics on-site in just 80 minutes.

The process begins with a comprehensive biomechanical assessment, where we assess your foot structure, gait, weight distribution, and any areas of concern. We then use a scanner to create a precise digital model of your feet, accurate to 0.1mm. This model allows us to design orthotics tailored specifically to your needs, whether you require support for flat feet, relief from foot pain, or assistance with sports injuries.

Once the design is finalised, we manufacture your orthotics on-site, ensuring a perfect fit without the long wait times associated with traditional methods. You’ll leave with your orthotics in hand— or in your shoes!— ready to jump back into daily life.

Your Orthotics Treatment Questions Answered.

Orthotics aim to address many areas of foot care including flat feet, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, sports injuries, and even hip and lower back pain.

Unlike older methods of creating orthotics, which often took weeks to produce, your orthotics can be in your hands in as little as 80 minutes! Following your comprehensive biomechanical assessment, our experienced podiatrists take your scans and adjust them on screen as needed before we manufacture them at our on-site mill. This ensures we create your orthotics correctly straight away, reducing the need for more appointments.

Not at all! Our orthotics are versatile and can be fitted in a wide range of footwear from sandals to sneakers.

Our orthotics treatment aims to help patients with many kinds of foot concerns, from a painful heel injury to fungal nail disease and more. Wherever you’re experiencing pain in your feet or lower limbs, we aim to address it with orthotics wherever possible.

Yes, you can! Orthotics are designed to be part of your treatment plan, not necessarily act as the entire treatment plan on their own. You may wish to combine orthotics with laser treatment, exercise physiology, or something else from our range of services, and we’d be happy to assist.

There’s an overwhelming selection of products available, which can cause confusion. It’s essential to differentiate between medical orthotics and general inserts since they serve different purposes.
